Wire & Spark Erosion (EDM Machining)

Wire or spark EDM (electrical discharge machining) are processes which enable us to machine very detailed componentry with a complex and intricate design whilst achieving strict, precise dimensional tolerances.

Our EDM processes are well suited to machining gears, sprockets, carbide tooling as well as other extremely hard-wearing materials, such as heat treated or chemically hardened metals,

Additionally, EDM is capable of delicately removing material without excessive heat or pressure being applied to the component, therefore eliminating any risk of heat or dimensional distortion whilst maintaining the materials performance properties and hardness.

Wire and spark EDM capabilities include:

• 3 Fanuc W2 5 axis 100 amp with cutting capacity of 500mm x 350mm x 310mm.
• Sodick AQ325L linear Motor Drive Wire Cut EDM.
• Charmile 300mm diameter electrode.
